Getting Results (FIDE 1277)

Most gods throw dice, but Fate plays chess, and you don’t find out til too late that he’s been playing with two queens all along ~ Terry Pratchett

Practise Practise Practise

Not all practise is good practise

Defining good practise can be the number one ask

If you aren’t getting the results you want, what practise can you do to improve?

Doing the same thing over and over again won’t help improvement.

Stringent; analysis of your results, then applied action on your analysis is crucial.

So that’s how to look at getting better results.

  • Practise
  • Analyse results
  • Set actions for improving
  • Practise improvement actions
  • Analyse results
  • Repeat this process for outstanding results

If you want to get better at what you do, then Practise – Analyse – Act on results – Practise.

I spend hours playing chess because I find it so much fun. The day it stops being fun is the day I give up ~ Magnus Carlsen
