Top 10 things we don’t need to do anymore thanks to mobile phones
Technology is a mesmerising practicality. One of the lasting memories I have is the ground breaking change from rotary dial phones. The film ‘Aliens in the Attic’ showed the impacts of using such a wonderful piece of telecommunications in this modern era, simply put, it took a very long time to dial one number as the rotary system whirred back to its start position. I loved trying to see how fast I could dial numbers by dragging the dialler back up to the start position and dragging it back around again trying to inject the rotary system with super natural powers, unfortunately it made no difference, but it did make me feel like I was dialling quicker, so carried on anyway. One thing we don’t have to do anymore is unwind a knotted telephone cable, cheers to progress.
