Diversify to specialise
When you specialise in a particular field it is often quite difficult to think about doing other events that aren’t directly linked to your speciality, after all, you’ve spent years honing your skills so anything outside of this sphere must surely be waved off as a distraction and not to be entertained at all costs. I’m glad to say that this way of thinking is slowly but surely coming to an end and is currently being replaced by a new positive, eclectic acceptance that the benefits of cross training, both mentally and physcially, far out weigh specialist one dimensional training.
