Memories of Radio Aires Party in the park – Leeds
Radio Aires – Top Party in the Park memories
After being lucky enough to get free tickets for the UK’s biggest free Pop Party, I was pleasantly surprised with the first act named Parade, a group of girls who belted out quality vocals with a good range of dance moves for good measure.
I felt sorry for Cher Lloyd of X-Factor fame as she gave a muted performance amid an array of boos and jeers. But anyhow the show must go on and go on it did as Tinchy Stryder worked the crowd into a near frenzy, if I can take a moment to quote a young boy who sat behind me on the raised edge, ‘ Tiiiiiinchy, ohhhh, I just love his music mum, look Tinchy’s on’.
J-Sean, Example,The Wanted and Tinchy all kept the ‘Mosh crew’ bouncing in waves. I don’t know if you’ve ever felt like the earth was moving underneath you, well for a brief moment I looked out to the ‘Mosh Pit’ and everyone was indeed ‘Moshing’ in unison, the optical illusion made it appear quite elevated. Brilliant moments of oneness with people from differing backgrounds.
The Radio Aire Party in the Park was a great success with Temple Newsam’s grounds heaving with people throughout the afternoon. I for one would like to say big thanks to everyone who was involved in organising this event – and congratulations to all the performers for entertaining me and my family.
