How/Why do I walk/scramble Mountains?

I’m often asked why/how I am able to walk up hills and scramble mountains?  For me its the simple knowledge of ensuring I have had enough preparation then preparing some more for good measure. The why? comes from a love of the open air countryside and the wanting to be part of the magnificent creations they bestow. I wish to get close to nature in order to  feel as one with the hills and mountains in all their glory, but in order to do this safely I must be prepared both physically and mentally, for  The Hills are Alive and daring to disrespect any hill or mountain will not count in my favour if I am not hill/mountain fit.
