Friendship of the Web

Do we know what true friendship is especially with the advent of social networking sites?

Is there any credence in the relationships established on such sites? or are they dens of iniquity destined to rid our cultures of the ability to converse socially in the real world?

Thanks to the innovators for sharing their desire to make things better on the internet, thanks for the powerful people who listened to the innovators and gave them a platform to create their desire, but even the late great psychologists/physicists/philosophers could not find the on/off switch for dealing with true friendship on the internet.

Is there such a thing as true happiness in the web environment? and how do you deal with someone who tries to bring you down in the social network setting?

The virtual cyber world is already moulding how society thinks and progresses. The future web builds are searching to have an influence on every part of our lives. Whether it shapes our behaviours for the betterment can be questioned, but advancement cares not about behaviours only its own creation.

The virtual cyber world is a very real system of communication and is often mistaken for a real life substitution. Public institutions are not yet fully comfortable with its use, but it is the world in which many citizens already live – and is set to increase in the future.

A high percentage of youngsters reared on the internet find it hard to distinguish between their real life friends and those they have met online. They soon learn that the use of inappropriate behaviour is easy to instigate from behind a pc, as such, social graces are thrown out of the window in order to achieve cheap thrills without any thought being given as to the impact on others.

I personally have been the recipient of such behaviour and worse still from adults who should have known better. Upon my reporting of the incident the controller sat back and took no blame or action to rectify the situation. Like I said earlier the cyber world cares not about behaviours only the popularity of their creations.

I can see now why there have been many reports of bullying, marriage break ups and even deaths caused by the new age virtual cyber world. I maintain that serious tight controls throughout all web forums/communities need to be developed in order to establish clearer ideas about what constitutes an offence online and the corrective action that needs to take place instantly in order to force the dens of iniquity to learn the ability to converse socially in the virtual world of cyber space.

On the plus side there are very heart warming reports of online dating successfully matching couples and creating marriages, so it looks like there is a silver lining to the virtual interaction in cyber world and shows there is a percentage who really do want to find happiness within the special creations available on online.

More recently you can discover all types of products and services online. Not so long ago, such things as PC games did not even exist but now you can access about every PC game that was ever made. With a flick of a button and the technological advancements of high-speed broadband and bandwidth your game is ready for you to play instantaneously and switched off with the same button.

Long live progress.
